In 2001 the local energy company in Schiedam (ONS) placed a Lagerwey30 turbine. The turbine was placed on the shore of the main waterway of Rotterdam, the biggest harbour in the world. The turbine blends nicely in the industrial enviroment. In 2008 Eneco bought ONS and became owner of this wind turbine. Eneco operates about 80 on shore turbines between 250 kW and 3 MW in Holland.
| Marike Mevis, wind park manager at Eneco said:
"....The turbine generates about 450.000 kWh per year. The maintenance for this turbine is done by a Dutch wind turbine maintenance expert. Two times a year a maintenance team comes over for preventive maintenance. For a maintenance job the turbine is stopped for 1 day or less. People living or working near by the turbine don't even notice the turbine is there and have no complaints..."
